Message from the Over-all Chair

It is with distinct honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 63rd Annual Convention and Anniversary Celebration of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.  Your presence with us has affirmed your commitment and dedication in fostering the ultimate goal of the Society – improving the reproductive health of the Filipina.   As we continue the tradition of holding our convention every November, the 2009 organizing committee has looked back at previous endeavors and tried its best to come up with a program of activities that befits the times. 

For the first time in the history of the POGS, our theme is stated in our national language - “Babae…Kalusugan Mo, Katungkulan Natin”.   It is this theme that anchored all the year-long programs of the Society under the guidance of our President, Dr. Lourdes Blanco-Capito. The Annual Convention is the mother of all the Society’s activities as it encompasses ceremonies, fellowships, business meetings and continuing medical education for all participants.   Our ceremonies are an echo of past POGS conventions but new and innovative features in the scientific program are added that will guarantee to elevate it to a 21st century status.

Indeed, the 2009 Annual Convention will go down in the annals of our Society as the event of many exciting “firsts”.   I, together with my “dream team” that crafted a dynamic and engaging program, congratulate everyone for making all of these to happen.
